Spell Formula

A Spell Formula is used to determine the Mana Cost, Casting Time, Entropy Dice, Effects, Duration, as well as various other information that a particular spell contains.

In order to properly Manifest a Spell, the Magic User must have some idea or intent that he wills into the Mana Field. The Mage’s Astral self rapidly manipulates, ties, and weaves the strands of the Mana Field into complex shapes and designs before the material world around him becomes affected by the manifestation of his willed power.

The cost of Magic is high, it takes more than just a cosmic toll on the Magic User. At times the spell may deplete the Mage’s personal reserve of Mana, and the Mage may fail to gather the Ambient Mana from the surrounding area. In such cases, every point of Mana that the spell would cost, in access of the Mana already spent, the Mage suffers from a physical tearing of mind and body, as the Mana Field attempts to take the very essence of the Magic User as payment for the spell.

The following is a list of Mana Cost modifiers, they are dependent on the intended effects of the spell the Magic User is attempting. Narrators are recommended to adjust these values based on situations they deem necessary. Magic is not a constant, stable equation and almost every aspect of casting it is a variable. Determining the exact value for every spell cast in game could take a considerable amount of time. and Not every spell cast will have the exact intended result of the Mage.
