Characters with this Trait can walk faster than most others. Increase the character’s Walk Speed by 1 per Rank in this trait.

Husky
Value: 2
Prereq: Character Creation Only, Endurance 4+, Strength 3+
Characters with this Trait add 2 to the character’s strength, for determining his Encumbrance Value. They also receive a +1d10 modifier to all rolls where Strength is used.

Ambidexterity
Value: 3
Prereq: Character Creation Only, Agility 3+
Characters with this Trait ignore the -2d10 dice pool modifier for using an offhand weapon. They would still need to split their dice pool as normal, and would still suffer from any modifiers for targeting extra opponents.

Blandness

Prereq: Character Creation Only
Characters with this Trait are able to blend into crowds more easily. They are of average height, weight, and appearance. They do not have any form of distinguishing marks or features. People tend to not be able to give more than a vague description of the character. Those who attempt to shadow, follow or look for the character receive a –2d10 dice pool modifier. These penalties only affect physical attempts to locate, not magical attempts.

Double Jointed

Characters with this Trait have unusually flexible joints and can bend and contort his or her body into extreme positions. The character receives a +1d10 modifier for Escape Artist checks as well as any other check the Narrator deems reasonable such as Agility Tests which would allow a character to squeeze into small, cramped spaces through which less limber characters cannot pass.

Improved Health Threshold

Characters with this Trait increase their Health Threshold by 1 for each rank in this Trait.

Lightning Reflexes
Value: 1 per Rank
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait receives a +1 bonus to their Reaction score for Surprise Tests only.

Night Vision
Value: 2
Prereq: Insight 3+
Characters with This trait can see more details at night than normal, reduce all Vision Penalties due to darkness by 2. There must be some sort of light available.

Toughness
Value: 3 per Rank (Max = Endurance)
Prereq: Endurance 4+
Characters with this Trait receive a +1 to their Endurance for determining their Health.

Resistance to Pathogens
Value: +1
Characters with this Trait have a vigorous immune system that fights off diseases and infections. The character gains a +1d10 modifier when resisting the effects of disease.

Resistance to Toxins
Value: 1
Characters with this Trait can fight off toxins and drugs more easily than other characters. The character gains 1d10 when resisting the effects of drugs and toxins.

Will to Live
Value: 1 per Rank (Max = Endurance)
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait can survive damage beyond their normal capacity. They receive a +1d10 modifier to Endurance checks for each Rank in this Trait, when determining if the character dies for being below 0 Health.

Quick Healer

Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait either recover from damage more quickly than other characters, are easier to heal and treat, or both.

1pt for each d10 added for purposes of recovering Health only (Max = Endurance)
1pt for each d10 added to any form of healing technique such as First Aid, Medicine, or Magic that is used in their behalf (Max = Endurance)

Light Sleeper
Value: 1
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait are awoken easily. They receive +2 to all dice pools to be woken up. This can be a bad thing, if they need a full night’s rest to get a job done, but is useful if someone tries to sneak up on them while they are asleep.

Allergy
Value: See Table
Characters with this Trait are allergic to a specific type of material. The value of an Allergy is based on the rarity of the material, as well as the severity of symptoms that the allergy has caused.
For example, the value of an Allergy based on an Uncommon Material with a Severe Symptom is worth -4 points.

Rarity Value Description
Uncommon -1 pt The substance or condition is rare. Silver and gold are examples of Uncommon substances.
Common -2 pts The substance or condition is common. Plastic, sunlight and pollutants are examples of Common substances
Severity Value Description
Mild -1 pt Symptoms are discomforting and distracting, add a -1d10 Dice Pool modifier to all Tasks made while a character is exposed to his allergy.
Moderate -2 pts Contact with the substance produces intense pain. Add a -1d10 Dice Pool modifier to all Tasks made while a character is exposed to his allergy. Add 1 to the Damage Value of weapons made from this substance when they are used against a character with a Moderate Allergy
Severe -3 pts As Moderate. In addition, the character must make a Damage Resistance Task to resist 4 damage every minute of exposure. The DV of the exposure increases by 1 for each Hour of exposure.

Blind
Value: -6 (-3 for Magic Users)

A character with this Trait cannot see. The character cannot make any roll based on using sight. Magic Users may be able to use spells to mimic sight, however they still receive -3d10 on any roll, despite what spell they use.

Borrowed Time
Value: -4
Prereq: Character Creation Only
A character with this Trait may die at any time. The character might have a fatal illness, be infected with a slow-acting poison or have a deadly Curse bestowed upon them. In any case, the character’s life span can be measured in months. Whenever a character takes the Borrowed Time Flaw, the Narrator secretly rolls 4d10. The result indicates the number of game months before the character dies. When the character’s time is up, he dies; nothing can save him. Give the character a dramatic death scene.

Color Blind

Prereq: Character Creation Only
Characters with this Trait see the world in black, white and shades of gray. The character receives a -2 Dice Pool modifier for any tests in which distinguishing between colors is important. Characters cannot take both Blind and Color Blind.

Deaf
Value: -3
Prereq: Character Creation Only
Characters with this Trait cannot hear. The character cannot make Hearing Tests, and receives a -2d10 Dice Pool modifier for any tests in which hearing is a factor, including Reaction.

Weak Immune System
Value: -1

Characters with this Trait are more susceptible to infection by diseases than normal. Reduce the character’s Endurance by 1 when determining disease resistance.

Distinctive Features

Prereq: None (natural/birth conditions must be taken at Character Creation)
Characters with this Trait have some feature that is easily recognizable. These must be something they cannot hide without difficulty, such as a sixth finger, tattoos all over their face, etc. The character can attempt to cover up these features, but would receive a -1d10 modifier on any Disguise check. Also when in social situations with an individual with the appropriate Traits, the character may receive other penalties, depending on the nature of the features and the opposing individual’s personality. The More points this Trait is worth, the more penalties the character would receive, as well as the bonuses used to spot the individual in a crowd.

-1pt for each +1d10 modifier applied to opposed checks to spot or notice the specific individual

Short of Breath

Characters with this Trait have difficulty performing strenuous tasks. Since they are unable to breathe efficiently, their Endurance is considered to be 1 less, per Rank in this Trait, when determining how long they can perform extended, physical tasks.

Impaired Health Threshold
Value: -2 per Rank
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait are more susceptible to the effects of damage. For each rank in this Trait, the character’s Health Threshold is decreased by 1.

Night Blindness
Value: -2
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait are effectively blind at night or in darkness. In Full Darkness or Minimal Light conditions the character receives a -2d10 modifier for visual-based checks in addition to the standard darkness modifiers.

Deep Sleeper
Value: -1
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait sleep heavily; they receive a -2d10 modifier to any attempt on waking them up as well as a -1d10 modifier on all Tasks for up to an hour after waking, unless proper stimulants are used to negate the effects.

Short
Value: -2
Prereq: Character Creation Only
Characters with this Trait are much smaller than normal; reduce the Character’s Stride by 1.

Slow
Value: -1 per Rank
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait are slower than usual. Decrease the character’s Walk Speed by 1 per Rank in this Trait.

Clumsy
Value: -1 per Rank
Prereq: None
Characters with this Trait are considered to have an Agility score or 1 point lower than it actually, for each Rank in this Trait, is for skills used while moving; this includes Running, Climbing, Jumping, etc. This penalty to Agility only affects Skills and only if the skill is used while the character is in moving. The character’s movement speed is unaffected.
